Louise Hobbs

Nettie Louise Miller Hobbs, 94, formerly of Oak Avenue, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Abbotts Creek Nursing. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Terry Roland. Mrs. Hobbs was born in Stanly County on Jan. 14, 1915, to Jones David Miller and Noland Peeler Miller. She retired from Fred O. Sink Printing, where she was employed for 34 years, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thorton David Westmoreland, and her second husband, Ellis Wade Hobbs. Surviving are one daughter, Ann Swinson and her husband, Ronald, of Southmont; one stepson, Dane Hobbs and his wife, Sandy, of Yadkin College; one stepdaughter, Sue Pinkston and her husband, Larry, of Salisbury; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at their home on Riverwood Drive, Lexington.
