Louise Leonard

Clara “Louise” Honbarger Leonard, 84, of Linwood went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 04, 2021 at the home of her son.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in the Linwood United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Lindquist officiating.

Mrs. Leonard was born in Rowan County on December 18, 1936 to David William Honbarger and Nola Pearl Stricker Honbarger. She was a retired Postmaster, having worked for the United States Postal Service at the Linwood Post Office and was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church. Mrs. Leonard was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Franklin Leonard, Jr.; a son, Ricky Lee Leonard; and a brother, Harry Honbarger.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Joe Franklin Leonard (Bridgett) of Denton and Terry Wayne Leonard (Kathy) of Linwood; a brother, David William Honbarger, Jr. (Judi) of Salisbury; a sister, Irene H. Miller of Salisbury; five grandchildren, Tracy Horn (Chris), Alisha Leonard (Richard), Joey Leonard (Rebekah), Kathleen Bowman (Landen), and Carla Tysinger (Brandon); and ten great-grandchildren.
