Mrs. Thelma Louise Brown Leonard, 88, of Lake Shore Drive, died Friday, December 31 at the Hinkle Hospice House after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, by Rev. Howard Baker. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Nikki Williams, 675 Yadkin College Road, Lexington.
Mrs. Leonard was born December 4, 1922 in Davidson County to William James Brown and Kathleen Koonts Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Her brother, Grady Brown, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Venice Alfred Leonard of the home; her daughter, Nikki Williams of Lexington; her brother, Marshall Brown, her grandchildren, Angie Crookenden and husband, Ian, Jr., of Massachusetts, and Kris Williams and wife, Charity of
Lexington; and her great grandchildren, Addison Crookenden, Hadley Crookenden, Kane Williams, and Ben Williams.
Flowers will be received at Davidson Funeral Home and memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, General Fund, 4299 S. NC Hwy 150, Lexington NC 27295 or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
