Louise Beck Mcginn

Louise Beck McGinn, age 83 of Alston Brook, formerly of West Fourth Avenue, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning (Aug. 10, 2011) at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday (August 12, 2011) at First Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends Friday at First Baptist Church Chapel one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home of her daughter, Molly Bailey, 714 Brookgreen Drive, Lexington.   Louise was born in Buncombe County, NC September 19, 1927 to Albert Lee Beck, Sr. and Ethel Dotson Beck. She was a member of First Baptist Church; a graduate of Memminger High School in Charleston, SC and Mars Hill college and attended Western Carolina. She was a retired employee of Davidson County Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” McGinn on November 20, 2007 and brothers, Albert, Quay and Bill Beck.   Mrs. McGinn is survived by; two daughters, Karon McGinn and Molly Bailey and husband Alan all of Lexington; one son Robert James McGinn, III and Patricia Palmer McGinn of Clemson, SC; grandchildren; Mark McGinn and wife Susan, Amanda Piekutowski and husband Ian, of Greenville, SC, Kristin McGinn of Charlotte, Cameron Bailey, Palmer Bailey and Sheldon Bailey all of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Jack McGinn of Charlotte and Davis Piekutowski, of Greenville, SC; sister in law, Edna McGinn and Mary Beck; nieces and nephews, Dan, Pat, Ron and Monty McGinn, Linda Lancaster, Missy Link, Cecelia Jones, Carole Orr, Tommy, Albert Lee, Elizabeth and Quay Beck and Martha Walker.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, HVAC fund, PO Box 436, Lexington, NC 27293 or to Special Olympics of Davidson County, PO Box 1067, Lexington, NC 27293.   The family would like to thank the staff of Alston Brook for all the love and care given to their mother over the last several years.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
