Louise Spruill

Louise Young Spruill, 89, of Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, Thomasville formerly of Charlotte went to her heavenly home Friday, February 10, 2012 in Hinkle Hospice House after seven years of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 13, 2012 at Beck’s Reformed Church with Rev. Gerald Sanders and Rev. Tim Miller officiating. A reception and visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7407 Steele Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28217. Mrs. Spruill was born September 26, 1922 in Kershaw County, SC to Arthur Clarence Young and Ola Mae Connell Young. She was a Cafeteria Manager for Mecklenburg County School System and was a member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest Worth Spruill, July 23, 1992 and a son, Ernest “Pokey” Spruill in 1990. Surviving are two sons, Bill Spruill, Mike Spruill and wife, Judy both of Charlotte; one daughter, Barbara Strickland and husband, Jim of Lexington, eight grandchildren, Cathie Elliott and husband, Scott, Jay Strickland and wife, Natalie, Kevin Spruill and wife, Allison, Ryan Spruill and wife, Crystal, Jeff Spruill and wife, Anne, Lori Hunt and husband, Johnny, Cheri Long and husband, Page, Jason Spruill and wife, Tina; great grandchildren Hunter and Ashlyn Elliott, Emma Strickland, Kaleb and Tanner Long, Cheyenne Hunt, Jordan Hunt and fiance, Jason Dugan, Nikki Suddreth and husband, Justin, Landon and Caleb Spruill, Mollie and Mason Spruill, Zachery and Angelina Spruill, one great great grandchild, Jaina Dugan; three sisters, Eloise Taylor of Augusta, GA, Doris Hunter and husband, Wade of Kershaw, SC and daughter-in-law, Linda S. Beck and husband, Jack of Charlotte.
