Mary Louise Clodfelter Tucker, 87, of Riverview Road, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Hinkle Hospice House after an illness of six months. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, August 18 at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church, by the Rev. Billy Pearson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Tucker was born in 1925 in Forsyth County to Carl Bennett Clodfelter and Jessie Moore Clodfelter. She was a former member of North Lexington Baptist Church for fifty years and later, a member of Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church. She was a member of the Garden Club, an auxiliary member of Gideon’s International, and Home Extension Service. She also provided leadership in WMU, GA’s, youth group, and the food and clothing ministry to help those in need. She also was a Sunday School Teacher. Her brothers, Leon Clodfelter, Harry Lee Clodfelter and Paul Clodfelter; and a sister, Katherine Crews, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Paul Elmore Tucker of the home; her son, Larry Tucker, and wife, Kandy, of Sylva; her daughters, Pamela Nickel of Charlotte, Beverly Benfield and husband, Steve, of Raleigh, and Sherry Gobble and husband, Bryant, of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Kerri Tucker, Tonya Lovelace and companion, Vern, Stacey Geidl and husband, Joe, Nancy Nickel and companion, Alex, Scott Benfield, Nathan Gobble, and Emily Gobble; and her great grandchildren, Alejandro Nickel and Lilly Murillo.
