Louise Young

Louise Walser Young, 99, of Davidson County, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 3:00 PM, and Linwood United Methodist Church, with Rev. Cindy Ramirez officiating.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service.

Louise was born on June 16, 1923, in Davidson County, to the late Albert Walser and Josie Essick Walser. She spent most of her life working as a hairdresser and attending Linwood United Methodist Church. Louise loved to garden and work in her flower beds and was always known to have a wonderful “green thumb”. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Young; brothers, Archie, Willie, and Elmer; and sisters, Kathleen, and Pallie.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jackie Shoaf and husband Jerry, of Lexington, and Faye Young of Lexington; sister, Wilma Leonard of Salisbury; grandchildren, Chan Shoaf, and Tiffany Koonts; great grandchildren, Morgan Koonts, and Ali Koonts; and great great grandchild, Aubree Wright.

The family would like to thank two of Louise’s special friends, caregivers Jennifer Watson and Jennifer Martin.
