Lowell Thomas Hedrick Sr., 80, of Hedrick Mill Road, died suddenly Friday, May 30, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, where he was a member, with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Hedrick was born March 1, 1934, in Davidson County, to William Henry Hedrick and Ida Bell Swing Hedrick. He was founder and chief advisor of Hedrick Grading and Paving and a past President and current assistant treasurer of the Davis Townsend Lion Club. He was past President of FFA of North Carolina. Mr. Hedrick was a pillar of the Hedrick’s Grove community known and loved by many. He served in many leadership capacities at his church where he was a lifelong member. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, William Hedrick, JW Hedrick, and Kemp David Hedrick; and sisters, Clara Faye Palmer, Lucille Garner, Mary Violet Palmer, Betty Harvey, and June Lambeth.
Surviving are his loving wife Rachel May Hedrick of the home; sons, Tom Hedrick Jr. and wife Debbie, Todd Hedrick and wife Pam, and Lanny Hedrick and wife Tammy; grandchildren, Lori Beth Sink and husband Josh, Joseph Hedrick, Caleb Hedrick, Ben Hedrick and wife Jordan, Allison Hedrick, Victoria Hedrick, Nicholas Hedrick, and Faith Hedrick; and great-grandchild, Beau Sink; and sister, Nancy Swing.
