Lowell Thomas Huffman, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, in Yadkinville at the age of 94.
Lowell was born on December 9, 1931, in Forsyth County to the late Thomas Monroe Huffman and Ola Tate Huffman. A man of strong conviction and quiet strength, Lowell lived a life rooted in dedication—to his family, his interests, and his principles.
He had a deep love for aviation and airplanes, and he found joy in simple pleasures such as boat rides, fish fries, and time spent with friends and loved ones. Known for his smooth roller skating skills, Lowell brought a sense of fun and charm wherever he went. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge in Kernersville, where he shared fellowship and service with his community.
Above all else, Lowell will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his beloved wife, Janet “Jeanette” Smith Huffman, who preceded him in death in 2017. Their love was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished her deeply every day.
In addition to his parents and his cherished wife, Lowell was preceded in death by his three sisters, Juanita, Jettie, and Margaret, and his brother, Jack Huffman.
He is survived by his loving family: his son, Mark Huffman (Christina); his daughter, Jill Thomas (Rodney); his grandchildren, Hailey Huffman (Allen Roth), Mark Huffman Jr. (Chrissy), and Heather Huffman; and his three adored great-grandchildren, Caroline, Chloe, and Silas. He also is survived by numerous loved friends and neighbors. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on through them.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Winston-Salem. A graveside service to honor Lowell’s life will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford.
Lowell will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
