Lucille Allen

A wonderful woman’s life ended on earth Saturday, August 30, 2008 at High Point Regional Hospital. Lucille Allen, 81, of Linwood, NC had been in declining health and passed following a sudden illness. A funeral service will be held on 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 3 at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church by Reverend and brother-in-law, Wayne Vuncannon. The burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Lucille was born May 10, 1927 to Addie and Marvin Ryder. She was a lifelong member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elvin Allen, daughter, Janice Holder, and brothers, Odis Ryder and Tommy Ryder. Lucille is survived by one son, Eddie Allen, four sisters, Christine Rowe, Bernice Leonard (Coney), Juanita Yates (Herbert) and Hazel Vuncannon (Wayne). She was also survived by grandchildren Lisa Reynolds (Bubby), Scott Holder (Lisa), Mollie Allen (Jason), Cory Allen and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Lucille Allen to Coggins Memorial Baptist Church at 1306 South Main Street Lexington, NC 27292. Her family will miss her bright smile, warm laughter and loving embrace. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family. Visitation will be held at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the funeral.
