Lucille Blanton Cheatham, 84, of New Jersey Church Road, died Monday, September 08, 2014, at her home.
The funeral will be at noon Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at Center Hill Baptist Church, with the Revs. Brian Alexander and Lamar Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and other times at the home.
Mrs. Cheatham was born February 25, 1930, in Big Stone Gap, VA., to William Nelson Blanton and Susie Bledsoe Blanton. She was a member of Eastern Star and Friendship Circle at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cheatham volunteered for Davidson County Meals on Wheels for 12 years, she also volunteered for Crisis Ministry for many years and made quilts which she donated to Victory Junction Gang. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Edward Cheatham who died on March 14, 2014.
Surviving are her sons, John Blanton and wife Susie of Randleman, Richard Cheatham and wife Susan of King, Charles Michael Cheatham and wife Leeann of Cutler IN., and David Wayne Cheatham of High Point; daughter, Virginia Andrews and husband Jeff of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
