Lucinda "Cindy" Rice

Lucinda "Cindy" Lea Rice (nee Hissem) passed away on May 13, 2024, in Winston-Salem, NC, at the age of 67. She was born on November 27, 1956, in Parkersburg, WV.

Lucinda, known affectionately as Cindy, was a devoted Occupational Therapist, dedicating her life to helping others improve their quality of life.

She was a beloved mother figure to many, always welcoming children into her home with open arms. Her generosity and kindness knew no bounds, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Lucinda is survived by her daughter Crystal Bauer-Rice, daughter-in-law Stephanie Bauer-Rice, grandson Adam Riley Clark, and many "Bonus Kids." She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest Rice, daughter Hattie Rice, sister Victoria Hissem, father John W. Hissem, and mother Francis "Frankie" Buskirk.

A small viewing for family only will be held on Sunday, May 19, at 4 pm at Davidson Funeral Home on Hickory Tree Rd. All are welcome to join us at the graveside service that will take place at Parklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, NC, at 11 am on Monday, May 20th. After the service there will be a gathering at 2641 Glen Forest Dr. Winston Salem, NC to share memories of Cindy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House at 101 Hospice Dr., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 in honor of Lucinda's memory.
