Lucy Mae Battle

August 13, 1931 — July 6, 2020

Lucy Mae Everhart Battle, age 88, of Lexington passed away Monday morning, July 6, 2020.

A 2:00 pm graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Ben Ried officiating.

Lucy was born in Davidson County on August 13, 1931 to John V. and Beulah Hinkle Everhart. She enjoyed spending her time doing Arts and Crafts such as quilting and crocheting.

She also enjoyed gardening and fishing. Lucy was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Battle, her parents, and two brothers, Reuben Everhart and John “VJ” Everhart, Jr.

Surviving are one son, Keith Battle of Welcome; one daughter, Cindy Carpenter and husband, Greg of Lewisville; one sister, Elizabeth Jane Cherry of Atlanta; three grandchildren, David Battle and wife, Amy of Welcome; Misty Ried and husband, Ben of Iowa; Mark Carpenter and wife, Kristie of Maryland; great-grandchildren, Noah, Krystal, Greggory, Makayla, Davin, Pedro, Christina and Aracely.

The family would like to send out a “Special Thank You,” to Diane Mahoney for caring for our mom and grandmother in the home for the past few years.

In lieu of flowers send donations to Davidson County Hospice.

Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the Battle family.
