Lucy Bean Burkhart, age 82 of Tussey Road, Lexington passed away Sunday morning at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be 4:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Joe D. Coltrane officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Burkhart was born in Davidson County, March 23, 1926 to Samuel Curtis Bean and Lottie Crook Bean. She was retired employee of Dacotah Cotton Mills and a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Arnold Beane and sisters Arnette Bean, Thelma Bean, Hazel Wrenn and Vivian Beck.
Surviving are: husband, E. Darrell Burkhart of the home; daughters, Camille Burkhart of the home, Karon Morgan and husband Perry and Libby Calvert and husband Andy all of Lexington; two sons, Ed Darrell Burkhart, Jr and wife Jean of Advance and Stewart Burkhart and wife Kay of Lexington; eight grandchildren, Edward D. (Ted) Burkhart, III and wife Elizabeth, Jennifer Anthony and husband Tim, Keith Burkhart and wife Mandi, Craig Burkhart and wife Patricia, Matthew Morgan, Kelly Cook and husband Paul and Cole and Katie Calvert; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Wrenn and Oleta Bivens of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday at Davidson Funeral Home.
