Lucille "Lucy" Laws Martin, age 93, of Board Camp, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Green House Cottages of Homewood.
She was born on Saturday, September 17, 1932, to James Oliver and Marie Cordella Medford Laws in Bryson City, North Carolina. Lucy was a devoted member of Board Camp Baptist Church, where she enjoyed quilting with her sisters and helped make 300 quilts and baby blankets that were donated to the community. She served on the Family and Life Committee and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a very talented seamstress and ran a shop herself for 25 years. Her quilts were treasured by the family members and others she and her sisters made them for, and she was known for her generous heart and steady faith. Lucy loved the Lord above all and lived every day as a true Christian woman. She was the most wonderful mother a son could have, and her cooking made every meal special. What mattered most to her was serving the Lord and being a good friend and mother to all her family. Lucille was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Martin; two sons, Patrick Martin, and Jack Laws; four brothers, Eugene Laws, Grayson Laws, David Laws, and James Laws; and five sisters, Penny Grimes, Grace Laxton, Joyce Taylor, Catherine Medlin, and Evelyn Dodson.
