Lula Mae Hoffman

Lula Mae Hoffman (Cootie) beloved mother, Nana, sister and aunt passed away peacefully at SECU hospice care center in Yadkinville, NC, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the age of 78. She was a dedicated homemaker, whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Cootie enjoyed her great grands and had hoped to live to see her third one born.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cootie‘s life at the funeral service at 2 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. A visitation will be held at 1 PM providing an opportunity for loved ones to share their moments and pay their respects. Cootie was born on August 11, 1946, in Cumberland County, North Carolina to Tom and Mae Locklear McPherson. She spent her life nurturing her family and building a home filled with love and laughter. Her devotion to her family and her unwavering faith defined her years and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of those she cherished. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Hoffman, and his wife, Debbie; her daughter, Tammy Crotts, and her husband and Jeff. Lula was a proud grandmother to Austin Hoffman and his wife Hannah, Corey Crotts, Kristal Angell and her husband Luke. Great grandchildren, Oakley Jane Angell, Colton Rhett Angell and Bristol Elaine Hoffman, (baby on the way). She is survived by her stepbrother, Larry Norton, and many nieces and nephews.

Cootie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, JD Hoffman, her parents, sister Linda, and granddaughter Savannah Hoffman.

Cootie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the lives of those she loved dearly.
