Luther "Junior" Nichols

Luther “Junior” Ernest Nichols Jr., age 65, of Lexington passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with the Rev. Jerry Bowen officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service and other times at the home of Courtney Berrier.   Mr. Nichols was born in Davidson County on December 5, 1952 to Luther Ernest Nichols Sr. and Mary Cobbler Nichols. He was a very talented machinist and worked for himself for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Bowen Nichols; two brothers, Thurman Nichols and Jimmy Nichols; and a brother-in-law, Steve Koontz.   Surviving are his son, Luther E. Nichols III of Lexington; his daughter, Lori Nichols Everhart (Kevin Merritt) of Lexington; a son-in-law, Thomas Scott Everhart of Lexington; two brothers, Luther Wayne Nichols (Wanda) of Salisbury and Billy Nichols of Lexington; two sisters, Harriett Robbins (Scotty) of Winston Salem and Betty Koontz of Lexington; a sister-in-law, Maxine Nichols; five grandchildren, Courtney Everhart Berrier (Branson), Sierra Everhart, Hailey Everhart, Ethan Everhart, and Sherina Smith; one great-granddaughter, Molly Berrier; and a host of cousins.   Memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross at 2425 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28203.
