Luther Frank Lansdell Sr., 85 of 3732West Old Highway 64, Lexington died Monday evening at Lexington Memorial Hospital after two years of declining health.
Mr. Lansdell was born April 12, 1921 in Lee County, Mississippi to Samuel David Lansdell and Sarah Phillips Lansdell. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was a member of VFW Post 3074 and AMVETS Post 13. Mr. Lansdell was retired from Dixie Furniture. He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian Phillips Lansdell who passed away in 1993. He was also preceded in death by brothers Bill Lansdell, Jessie Lansdell, Emanuel Lansdell, Jack Lansdell, and Claude Lansdell; and sisters Lula Williams and Ruby Mott.
Surviving are a son Frank Lansdell Jr. and wife Pam of Lexington. Grandchildren Scott Lansdell and Michael Lansdell; great-grandchildren Katie Lansdell and Kara Lansdell; brothers J.W. Lansdell, David Lansdell, and Gene Lansdell all of Mississippi; and sisters Jettie Williams, and Ruby Mott both of Mississippi.
The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday (06-02-2006)in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen Ackerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Reeds Baptist Church Cemetery; where he was a member with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3074.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and other times at the home.
