Luther Venis “LV” Walser, 89, of North Leonard Road, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David Kelley and Nathan Snider officiating. Burial with graveside rites by Davidson County Firemen Honor Guard will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 29,2016, and other times at the home.
Mr. Walser was born April 3, 1926, in Davidson County, to Wade Arlin Walser and Kate Shoaf Walser. He was retired from Rentback Construction where he had worked as a carpenter. Mr. Walser was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and former assistant chief of Welcome Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Labelle Weaver Walser, who died February 23, 2001; and a brother, Bill Walser.
Surviving are sons, Foyle Walser and wife Linda, and Eric Walser and wife Deborah, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Angie Burns and husband Jonathan, Shane Walser and wife Sabrina, Brent Walser and wife Meredith, Nick Walser and wife Niki, and Justin Walser; great-grandchildren, Jake Walser, Emma-Grace Burns, Cooper Burns, Lillie Burns, Hailey Walser, Taylor Walser, Camden Walser, Leila Walser, Maci Owens, and Dakota Owens; brothers, Talbert Walser and wife Carolyn and Toby Walser, all of Lexington; and sisters, Patty Phelps and Doris Atkins, both of Welcome.
