Mose L. "Bo" Rainey, 86, of Greenway Dr., Lexington, passed away Friday, February 2, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 4, at First United Methodist Church, where he was a longtime member, conducted by the Rev. Carl Lindquist and Rev. Jill Alventosa Brown. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Rainey was born in Roper on March 13, 1920. He was one of 12 children of W.B. Rainey and Obern Jackson Rainey. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later retired from Carolina Panel Company. He was an avid tennis player and loved NC State Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Thomason Rainey on September 4, 1980.
Surviving are spouse, Loretta Lanning Rainey of the home; sons, Steven Rainey and wife, Leslie of Kernersville and Richard Rainey of Greensboro; step-daughter, Sharon Hunt of Lexington; grandchildren, Salem Rainey Metzger and husband, Jay and Joseph Rainey; step-grandchildren, Julie Hunt, Jonathan Hunt and Emily Hunt.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
