Mabel Coe Fowler, 90 of Becks Nursey Road, died Saturday, July 30, 2011, Lexington Health Care following several years of declining health.
A funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday at East End Baptist Church, where she was a charter member, with the Rev.Tim Gainey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of the daughter Christine Odell 105 Hammond Rd., Lexington.
Mrs. Fowler was born April 3, 1921, in Surry County, to Jesse Lee Coe Sr. and Mary Lou Robertson Coe. She was retired from the Manhattan Shirt Company, and was a Avon Representative for over twenty years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Alvin Fowler who died in 1985; her son Ronnie Fowler, four brothers; William F. (Buck) Coe, Jessie Lee Coe Jr., Ken O. Coe, and James A. Coe; four sisters, Melba Loman, Doris Gunter, Nancy Lewis, and Edith Youvon Coe.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeanette Thompson and husband, Steve, Betty Gunter and Christine Odell and husband, Jerry all of Lexington; Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Shane Hathcock, Stefanie Hathcock Copley and husband, Scott, Glen Gunter and wife, Christi, Scott Gunter and wife, Missy, Sheri Odell Crofts and husband, Scott, Brooke Odell Lemley and husband, Toby and Joni Bryant and husband Dan; great- grandchildren, Jonathan Hathcock, Ty Hathcock, Chance Hathcock, Kaitlyn Copley, Kara Copley, Noah Gunter, Caleb Gunter, Tyler Gunter, Dylan Gunter, Evan Crofts, Anson Lemley, Ashlyn Lemley, Matt Bryant and wife, Brittany, and Rebecca Kelly and husband, Jeff; great-great-grandchildren, Cadin Kelly, Jett Bryant, Piper Bryant; one step daughter, Peggy Jones and husband Leon of Thomasville; one sister Billie Everhart of Lexington.
