On January 3, 2011, Mrs. Mabel Kathryn Walser Liner, 87 went to be with her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Liner was born on April 10, 1923 to Mr. Wiley Curtis Walser and Mrs. Bertie Painter Walser. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Layton Woodrow Liner, a sister, Gladys Leonard and four brothers, Marshall Walser, Ray Walser, Roy Walser and John Walser. She is survived by a son James Liner and wife Becky and a granddaughter, Stephanie Haynes and husband David. Five sisters, Mary Lou Freedle, Francis Varner, Eva Mae McLemore, Jenell Lankford and husband Doug and Judie Bailey; many nieces and nephews, her best friends Edith and James Sims and a great friend and care giver Sue Spears. Mrs. Liner was a long time member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time and taking trips with the “senior saints” at church. In her earlier years, Mrs. Liner was employed at W T Grants in Lexington and later spent many years in the family business Liner’s Shoe Store. She loved her family dearly and cherished the time spent with them. She will be greatly missed here on earth but we have the blessed assurance that we will see her again in glory! Great thanks go out to her many wonderful doctors, the nursing staff at Forsyth Medical Center, Hospice of Davidson County, especially Mary and Kristin and to all her friends and family who have visited, sent cards and most importantly prayed for her throughout her illness.
