Mabel Kepley Young

Mabel Kepley Young, 78, of Westdale Drive, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Lexington Health Care after an extended illness. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Clyde Akers. Mrs. Young was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Davidson County to Edward Lee Kepley and Ida Mae Young Kepley. She retired from Siceloff Manufacturing and was a member of Beck's Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoyle Young Sr., who died Dec. 21, 2001; two sisters, Ina Browning and Louise Clodfelter; one brother, Robert Kepley; and three grandchildren, J.H. Young III, Mearl Smith and Mikie Smith. Surviving are a daughter, Judy Young Cochran and her husband, Buster, of Lexington; one son, John Hoyle Young Jr. and his wife, Phyliss, of Asheville; three grandchildren, Marty Smith of Lake Wylie, S.C., Jonathan Cochran of Lexington and Todd Young of Salisbury; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Young of Washington and Garrett Young of Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the home of the daughter, 179 Amber Lane.
