Mable Byerly Leonard

Mable Byerly Leonard, 87, of Leonard Road, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House following a short illness. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Sluder officiating. Burial will follow in Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Marie Whitlock on East Holly Grove Road. Mrs. Leonard was born December 4, 1922, in Baltimore, Md., to Joseph Byerly and Myrtle Marie Byerly. She was retired from Edgewood Apparel and a member of Center United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Ray Leonard, who died May 14, 2001. Surviving are son, Kenneth Ray Leonard and wife, Mary Jane, of Welcome; daughter, Marie Leonard Whitlock and husband, Jimmy, of Lexington; grandchildren, Onda Goins and husband, Jeff, Nita Jarrett and husband, Paul, and Todd Leonard and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, James Goins and wife, Lindsay, Stratton Goins, Preston Goins, Sarah Goins, Kayla Jarrett, Noah Jarrett and Sierra Jarrett.
