Macie Cable

Macie Michael Cable was born on March 11, 1956. He was born in Maryville, TN. He left this world to be with the Lord on May 13, 2026, spending the last 23 years of his life living with his daughter and family. It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we gather to celebrate the life of Macie Michael Cable, a man whose presence in our lives was a true blessing. Though we find ourselves in a moment of sorrow, we also take comfort in the joy and gratitude that fills our hearts as we reflect on the life of this remarkable man. He loved the simple things of this life. He was a Church Deacon, leader of a Bible study group for young boys, and served the community for most of his life as a market manager. There he met and blessed many families. People would come back just to see him. In his off time, he enjoyed living with his daughter and watching his grandchildren grow up. From kids' sporting events to watching TV shows to fixing things and advice on life, he was always there. His love for food could throw you off—that someone so small could eat so much! He loved family meals. He loved home-cooked meals, but if he could get everyone together, out we would all go. His favorite was sitting around the table just listening and laughing, occasionally picking fun or telling you how proud he was. At the end of the day, he enjoyed mowing the yard, grooming things up, and then sitting to just look at its beauty. Loving the Lord's landscape, he enjoyed camping, beach trips, and road trips with his brother. There was nothing he wouldn't try once. Everything he did was for and with his family.

As his body started to decline, he fought through unimaginable pains and heartbreaks. He never stopped fighting to stay with his family. He knew where he was going; he knew God had a place for him in heaven where eternity would be perfection. Yet his fight and want was to stay here on this earth until he felt his work was done. He wanted to see and be there for everything he could be. He wanted to protect and be present for all the highs and lows of our lives.

Nearing the end of his life, he prayed every night with his daughter. He prayed for peace and comfort over family; he prayed for family to be together, love hard, and enjoy all the happiness that this life had to offer. He prayed individually for those on his mind. Only then, before closing his prayer, would he pray over himself for God's will of time.

As we remember him today, we are reminded of the legacy of love and kindness he left behind. Macie was preceded in death by his dear grandparents, Nettie Ann and Theodore Cable; his loving parents, William Macie and Georgia Helen Cable; and his sister, Theresa Dianne Walker. Their memories now comfort us as they welcome him into the heavenly realm.

He leaves behind a family that will forever hold him in their hearts: his brother Larry Cable and wife Angela; sister Tina Welsh and husband Chris; and sister Alishia Cable, along with many nieces and nephews that were near and dear to his heart. They will carry forward the passed-down stories he imparted with love and care. His daughter, Elizabeth Farmer, will forever cherish the fatherly guidance and the enduring love he gave her, along with her husband Steven. His favorite five grandchildren are Brandon and wife Kelsey Caudill, who gave him the joy of two great-grandchildren, Hayden Jett and Skylar Blair; Hailey Caudill; Luke Caudill; Anna Farmer; and Alyssa Farmer. May they always remember that they were the smile on his face and the greatest joy of his life.

Macie’s journey was one marked by a profound love for his family, and he showed this through countless acts of kindness, from offering sage advice to the simple joy of tying little shoes. He was a man who loved deeply and wanted the best for those he held dear, making it all the more difficult for him to say goodbye. But his spirit remains a guiding light for us all, urging us to forgive and love one another, just as he did.

As we lay Macie to rest at Center Grove Church, and his place in TN, we do so with a promise to honor his wishes, to cherish the memories he created with us, and to carry his legacy forward. We find comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended, that he is now complete and at peace, walking down the heavenly paths with perfect vision, greeted by those who passed before him.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you in our brokenness, yet with joy in our hearts, to honor the life of Macie Michael Cable. May our hearts and minds never forget the gifts of love, sacrifice, and teaching he gave to us all. We ask for your grace and the certainty of your promise that we will be reunited with him and all our loved ones in your heavenly home. Please tell him that we love him always and will carry on his legacy until we meet again in Your house. In Jesus' Holy name, we pray. Amen.
