Mackenzie Manuel "Toby" Hughes

Mackenzie Manuel “Toby” Hughes, 65, of Hunt Road, Lexington NC, died Sunday October 4, 2009 at his home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday October 11, 2009 at his home. Mr. Hughes was born January 1, 1944 in Macon County North Carolina, to Clyde Hughes and Esta Deweese Hughes. He was a United States Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He attended Psalm 91 church. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Gareth Hughes, Arvin Hughes and J.C. Hughes as well as two sisters; Marcie McConnell and Louise Lytle Surviving is one son; Keith Hughes of Lexington, and one sister; Sue Sandlin of Florida. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Carolyn Potts and husband Larry of the Reeds Community The family will receive friends following the service.
