Madeline Morrow Swing, 86, of Rochelle Drive, died Monday, August 23, 2010, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Florence Bulla officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Swing was born February 25, 1924, in Middlesex County, N.J., to Peter Morrow and Elaine Andres Morrow. She was formerly employed at Duracell and was the hostess at Hardees on Cotton Grove Road. All who were fortunate to have known and met her, fell in love with her immediately. Her love had no boundaries. She was the epitome of what true, caring, giving, unselfish love is all about. She loved everybody and everybody loved her back. It was impossible not to. She never knew a stranger, and any stranger would have been lucky to have had their life touched by her boundless love. It's simply who she was.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd S. Swing; brothers, Peter Morrow, George Morrow, and Harry Morrow; and sisters, Elaine Demeter, Rose Burlew, Hilda Bekeulewicz, Frances Schulz and Anne Bunner.
Surviving are sons, Milton B. Swing of Roanoke, Va., and Daryl Alligood of Harrisburg, Va.; grandchildren, Donald Swing and Leslie Furrow; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Swing and Aidyn Swing; brothers, Edward Morrow, Fred Morrow, William Morrow, and Richard Morrow; and sisters, Dorothy Gombas, Jean Borwegen, LaVern Mazer, and Phyllis Mertz.
Her son, Milton Swing, would like to give his sincerest and warmest heartfelt thanks to all the friends and caregivers who gave of their time, effort and uncompromised love and affection for the superb care of Madeline over the course of her last months. They fell in love with her too. Again, it's simply who she was. She will be sadly and greatly missed by all, but never, ever forgotten. God Bless her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
