Madison Cleo Allen, age 89, of Helmstetler Road, Lexington passed away Thursday night
at his home. Funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday (9-21-2008) at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church with Rev. Edwin Chriscoe officiating. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
Cleo was born in Davidson County, April 3, 1919 to Elisha Allen and Sara Addie Easter Allen.
He was a retired assistant supervisor at Dixie Furniture, member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church and a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, J.D. Allen and Doug Allen and two sisters, Pauline Bowers and Almeeta Allen.
Surviving are: his wife of 68 years, Beulah Fritts Allen of the home, son; Madison Cleo (Mickey) Allen, Jr. of Southmont, daughter; Edith Dunning and husband Charles of Lexington, six grandchildren; Christie Dunning, Melinda Dunning, Beverly Ramsey, Stacy Allen, Mandy Martin and Angie Rodgers, ten Great-Grandchildren, two sisters; Elizabeth Sink and husband Bayard and Patricia Honeycutt and husband Jimmy all of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
