Mallory Carrick

July 10, 1928 — November 7, 2024

Mallory Ward Carrick, 96, of Lexington passed away November 8, 2024, at Lexington Health Care Center.

A funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 10, at Mountain View Baptist Church, by the Rev. Tim Miller.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday November 9 at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mallory was born July 10, 1928, in Davidson County to Clay Carrick and Lena Tysinger. Mallory was a devoted Christian to his church and family-loving father and grandfather. He joined Mt. View Baptist Church in 1941. He was a charter member. Ruby and Mallory were the first couple to be married at Mt. View Baptist.  At age 19, he began directing the choir and did so for 75 years, along with his sister as an organist. He also taught Sunday school and taught a class of deaf members as well. He was a Deacon and led the Bible School many times.

He was a current member of Gideons International and he spoke in many churches for many years as he was the oldest living Gideon in N.C. He placed many bibles in our schools. He served as PTO president at Southmont Elementary school. He was also a member of the Woodman of the World. He operated and owned Denton Hosiery Mill for 55 years along with his family.

His loving wife of 75 years, Ruby Carrick preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his sisters; Ann Surratt and husband Tony, Katy Palmer and husband Don; his brother, Howard Carrick and wife Connie; and daughter-in-law, Adelia Carrick.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Vicki Clodfelter and husband David, son, Tony Carrick, both of Lexington, his brother, Max Carrick and wife Libby, grandchildren, Chasity James and husband Chad, Jeremy Clodfelter and wife Mandi, Deana Coley and husband Greg, Drue Carrick and wife Carman and Deke Carrick, all of Lexington; great grandchildren, Cayman James, Braxton James, Kambri Clodfelter, Savannah Cutlip, Chandler Carrick, Drake Carrick, Dawson Coley, and Dylan Coley, all of Lexington.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the workers at Lexington HealthCare, members of Mt. View Baptist Church and his family for their visits and prayers during his sickness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. View Baptist Church, 407 Mt. View Church Rd., Lexington, NC 27292
