Mamie Berrier

Mamie Fritts Berrier, 89, of Lexington, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Linwood United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Cynthia L. Arnold. Mrs. Berrier was born Sept. 5, 1917, in Davidson County to Charlie Fritts Sr. and Julia Hedrick Fritts. She was a member of Linwood United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Bullock Hosiery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Berrier, who died Dec. 12, 1988; her parents; her brothers, Wade Fritts, John Fritts, Lee Fritts and Charlie Fritts Jr.; and her sisters, Minnie Blake, Jane Darr, Ann Hedrick and Effie McCulloch. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Barnhardt, and her husband, Tommy, and one granddaughter. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Linwood United Methodist Church, PO Box 82, Linwood, NC 27299 or the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
