Mamie W Powell

Mamie Whisenhunt Powell, age 78, of West Center Street Ext. Lexington passed away Friday February 17, 2012 at Lexington Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday February 19, 2012 at Good Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Sunday and other times at the home. Mamie was born in Forsyth County April 20, 1933 to Will Houston Whisenhunt and Sarah Tedder Whisenhunt. She was a retired employee of Lexington Furniture and a member of Good Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Willie Whisenhunt. Surviving are her husband Odell L. Powell of the home; one daughter, Angie Brown and husband, Corey, of Lexington; one son Rodney Powell of the home; two grandchildren, Sarah and Heather Brown; one sister Mary Keaton of Lexington.
