Mamie Hicks Shrewsbury, 61, of Hames Street, died Wednesday, October 9, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Bruner and the ministers of God’s Banqueting House officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
Mrs. Shrewsbury was born May 26, 1947, in Avery County, to Clinard Roosevelt Hicks and Beulah Presnell Hicks. She was a homemaker and a member of God’s Banqueting House Church. She was married to Connie Lee Shrewsbury Sr. who survives of the home.
Also surviving are sons, Billy Hunt of Lexington and Connie Lee Shrewsbury Jr. of the home; daughter, Debbie Kay Hunt Deal and husband, Kenneth, of Lexington; two grandchildren, Alex J. Hunt and Aaron James Branch; brothers, Don Hicks, Junior Hicks, Hamon Hicks and Victor Hicks, all of Lexington, and Brownie Hicks of Advance; and sisters, Wilma Mathis and Jean Hunt, both of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
