Manuel Ernest Trammell, age 79 of Trailer Drive, Lexington passed away Friday evening at Lexington Medical Center after several years of declining health.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the chapel of Davidson Funeral Home, with Rev. David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Manuel was born in Danville VA on April 11, 1934, to James Trammell and Elizabeth Wilmouth Trammell. Before his retirement, he worked in textile manufacturing. He was a member of Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Pruitt Trammell of the home; sons, Manuel Ernest Trammell Jr. (Kim) Jimmy Franklin (Zoorene ) both of Lexington; daughters, Tina Darnell (Scott), Tammy Tramell (Scottie), Gail Shaw ( William) all of Lexington and Vickie Phelps (Mike) of Java VA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friends Todd Williamson, Christina Thompson, Don Henderson, DJ Henderson, Kimmie Gaff, and Dean and Wanda Presnell.
