Margaret Carter

Margaret Ann "Maggie" Carter, 78, of Tussey Road, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at the home of her son. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Rev. Billy J. Sloop. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Carter was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Huntington, W.Va., to Ernest Riggs and Irene Jennings Riggs. She was employed with Owens-Illinois for 28 years, serving at its Midway and West Virginia facilities. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James Harold Lemmings. Surviving are three sons, Donald Lee Lemmings Jr. and his wife, Gail, Gary David Lemmings and his wife, Mabel, and Nick Carter and his wife, Deana, all of Lexington; two daughters, Linda McCulley and her husband, Richard, and Judy Carol Smith, all of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at their respective homes.
