Margaret Murphy Deal, age 74 of Lexington, went home to be with the Lord Monday night (March 23, 2015) at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date, with Dr. Gary Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 pm Saturday (March 28, 2015) at Open Door Baptist Church.
Margaret was born in Chatham County April 3, 1940 to James Edward and Rachel Cannady Murphy. She was a member of Fundamental Baptist Tabernacle and a former employee of Lexington Furniture. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Donald Deal; sisters, Lula Mae Murphy and Lillie Jane Ward; brothers, James, Thomas, Bobby and Douglas Murphy.
Surviving are her daughters, Margaret Ann Hanshew of Auburndale, FL, Carolyn Eloise Lanier (Marcus), Donna Michelle James (Robbie) and Cindy Joann Scott (Mike) all of Lexington; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister Peggy Wolsfelt (George) of Lake City, FL; brother-in-law, Rev. Kenneth Deal (Bonnie) of Lexington; her aunt, Idell Trull of Fayetteville and numerous nieces and nephews.
