Margaret Tipton East

May 31, 1922 — February 3, 2017

Margaret Tipton East, age 94 of Winston Salem passed away Friday, February 3rd 2017 at Priddy Manor Assisted Living of King, NC.   The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, February 6th 2017 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Pastors Ken Harris and Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.   Margaret was born May 31st 1922 in Alexander County to Donald Zeffrey Tipton and Cordia Mae Little Tipton. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and retired from RJR (Whitaker Park). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude William East Sr; son, Kelly East; sisters, Ellane Watkins, Mae Brannock; brother, Benard Kelly Tipton,  grandson, Billy East.   Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Caudle (Roger) of King; sons, Claude “Bill” East Jr. (Becky) of Clemmons, Steve Phillip East (Wanda) of Germanton; Grandchildren, Debbie Bacon, Kimberly Corns (Terry), Dale Caudle, Joel Caudle, step-granddaughter, Sara Snyder; great-grandchildren, Darlene Caudle, Michael Caudle, William  Tracy Wachob, Tabitha Wilson, Tyler Corns, Auston Caudle and Wynter Cashion.   The family would like memorials sent to: Union Grove Baptist Church, 2295 Union Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27295 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 129 Veterans Drive, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.   A special thanks to Julie Farmer, Donna Tedder, the staff and residents of Priddy Manor Assisted Living.   Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
