Margaret Egelnick

Margaret Elizabeth Stanford Egelnick, 85, of Lexington Health Care, formerly of Carolina House, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at the nursing home following a five year illness. The funeral will be 11:00 am Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial with military graveside rites will be 2 p.m. at National Cemetery with Preacher Ralph Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Egelnick was born July 10, 1929 in Davidson County to Marion E. Stanford and Rosa Padgett Stanford. She proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a civil servant with the U.S. Government, serving at the VA Medical Center. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Stanley Egelnick; brothers, Millard Stanford and Tommy Stanford; and sisters, Helen Stamey, Velma Winn, and Rachel Everhart. Surviving are son, Jay Egelnick and wife, Melissa, of Lexington; grandchildren, Stephen Egelnick of Lexington and Carrie Nance and husband, Matt, of Charlotte; brother, Harold Stanford and wife, Judith, of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Joyce Owens and husband Bob of Lexington; sister-in-law, Ann Jacobs of Maryland; and brother-in-law, June Everhart.
