Margaret Ellen Clarkson Reardon Rock, 74, of Cross Lane, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at High Point Regional Hospital after an illness of two weeks.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by Maj. Allan Houser and Maj. Michael Harmon.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Humphrey's Chapel United Methodist Church in Paint Bank, Va., by the Rev. David Brown and Maj. Michael Harmon. Burial will follow in Paint Bank Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Rock was born March 25, 1931, in Craig County, Va., to Hugh Nelson Clarkson and Esta Adams Clarkson. She was a member of the Salvation Army Worship Center and a retired employee of Canteen in Greensboro. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Reardon; two sons, Earl Joseph Reardon and William David Reardon; six brothers, George Clarkson, Charlie Clarkson, Bill Clarkson, Ballard Clarkson, Harvey Clarkson and Holand Clarkson; and two sisters, Louella Cartwright and Ida Mae Fridley.
Surviving are her husband, Edwin Rock of the home; a grandson, William David Haynes and his wife, Danielle, of Mooresville; a great-granddaughter, Emily Haynes; a sister, Ruth Custer and her husband, Randy, of Salem, Va.; four sisters-in-law, Annie Rock Rayhill, Eva Johnson, Mary Clarkson and Margaret Irene Clarkson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and other times at the residence.
