Margaret Leonard Leonard

Margaret Leonard Leonard, age 90, of Abbotts Creek, formerly of Rowe Road, Lexington passed away Tuesday morning (Nov. 22, 2011) at Abbotts Creek. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday (Nov. 26, 2011) at Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Dave Ambroso and Rev. Jimmy Norred officiating.  Burial will follow at Paul’s Chapel UCC Cemetery.   The family will receive friends at Davidson funeral Home from 6:00 until 8 PM Friday night and at other times at the home of son Jim Leonard, 18 Paddington Drive, Lexington.   Margaret was born in Davidson County, December 5, 1920 to John Baxter Leonard and Pearl Hedrick Leonard.  She was a member of Paul’s Chapel United Church of Christ.  She was a retired employee of Thompson Hayward Chemical Company; a former member of West Lexington Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin C. Leonard on July 5, 1995 and a grandson, Timothy Scott Leonard, in 2005; daughter-in-law, Joyce Leonard; brothers, J.D. Leonard, Paul Leonard and Forest Leonard.   Surviving are, her daughter, Judy Irene Leonard of Lexington; hers sons, James (Jim) Leonard and wife Sharon of Lexington; Jerry C. Leonard of Elizabeth City; five grandchildren, Jake Leonard, Nathan Leonard, Christina Leonard Eagle, Matt Leonard and Wendy Leonard Orrell; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Elizabeth Myers of Lexington.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
