Margaret Q. Ward, a beloved resident of Lexington, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on Wednesday, May 4th, 1927, Margaret lived a long and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of many with her kindness and warmth.
Margaret was preceded in death by her loving parents, D.D Bozeman and Josephine Jacobs Bozeman; her devoted husband, Buford Allen Ward and a son Bob Ward. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Connie Simerson, and her son-in-law, Eddie Simerson; 1 daughter-in-law Linda Ward 1 granddaughter, Angie Crews (Richard); 2 great-grandchildren, Jake Crews, and Andrew Crews; 4 step-grandchildren Gay Gunn (Carl), Michelle Ketchie (Walter), Corey Simerson and Ali Wall (Charlie); and a very special young man who did so much for her, Justin Ward.
Margaret dedicated much of her professional life to her role in payroll at Stroh Brewery, where she was known for her diligence and commitment. Her colleagues remember her as a reliable and friendly presence, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. In her spare time she enjoyed planting flowers and tending her plants, and found great joy spending time with her children and their families.
Outside of work, Margaret had a passion for playing bridge, a game she enjoyed with friends and family alike. Her strategic mind and competitive spirit made her a formidable opponent and a beloved member of her bridge club.
A celebration will be held 3:00 pm Saturday February 8, 2025 at Pilgrim Reformed Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Richard Moore conducting services.
The family will receive friends in the church parlor at 2;00 pm Saturday, just prior to the service.
