Margie Shipton Loman, age 86, of South Salisbury Street, Lexington passed away Sunday night February 5, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Harvey, Rev. Billy Louya and Chris Hewett officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of a daughter, Sue Miles, 12 Harkey Street, Lexington.
Margie was born in Davidson County, March 15, 1925, to William Richard Shipton and Clatie Ellen Owens Shipton. She was a retired employee of B & B Laundry. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, James Carl Loman; sisters, Elsie Daniels, Don Rea Pressley and Mattie Shipton and brothers, Arthur and Marvin Shipton; great granddaughter, Shana Williams and a son in law, George Miles.
Surviving are four daughters, Annie Hewett and husband James, Marie Byerly and husband Blake, Sue Miles and Christine Louya and husband Jackie all of Lexington; one son, Leon Loman and wife Marta of Lexington; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
