Margo Jane Hardie, a beloved resident of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 1, 1939, in Winston-Salem, Margo spent her life surrounded by the family and friends she cherished and was cherished by.
A determined and creative spirit, Margo was a talented decorator her love of color and shapes added a special flare to everything she touched. Her infectious laugh and kindhearted nature touched everyone who knew her, leaving behind gentle words of wisdom and a legacy of love and warmth.
Margo was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Hardie, her parents, Charles Parker and Pheobe Fulp, her brother Corky Blair, and sister Mary Ellen Jones. She is survived by her sons, Richard Alexander Norman (Cindy) and Jerry Alexander Norman III (Faith Black), and daughters, Amanda Jane Stewart (Don) and Cyndi Via (Cory, deceased). Her cherished sisters Gloria Parker and Jean Lynch also survive her.
Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride and joy in her five grandchildren: Candice Harmon (Rod), Kristen Norman, Elisa Norman, David Duval (Alyssa), and Casie Bambusch (Grayson), and her five great-grandchildren: Arron Turner, Emory Duval, Teagan Duval, Avery Bambusch, and Nora Bambusch. No tribute to Margo would be complete without mentioning her special feline companion, Callie, who brought her endless comfort and joy.
Margo's life will be celebrated with a graveside service on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, with Minister Cyndi Via officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather and share in the remembrance of a life lived with simplicity, grace, and a deep appreciation for nature. Her arrangements are in the compassionate care of Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
In her memory, the family would like donations to be made to Gentiva Hospice, an organization that provided Margo with excellent care and support in her final days.
Margo Jane Hardie will be remembered for her devotion to family and her appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Her evening walks and the love she extended to those around her will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
