Marie was born on March 6, 1927, in Rural Hall, to the late William Ernest Tedder and Beulah Posey Tedder. She worked for many years and retired from Hanes Hosiery. Marie was a lifelong member of Robinhood Baptist Church and was a strong Christian woman. Faith was a cornerstone of her life and she found joy in sharing her faith with others and teaching her family the values and love of Jesus Christ.

She was blessed to be able to travel throughout her life and visit many places she had read about in her bible, as Israel was a favorite destination.

Marie enjoyed spending time with friends and is remembered for her sweet spirit and helpful nature, always making sure those around her were taken care of and comfortable. Besides her faith, family was the most important aspect of life, and she adored each and every one of them. A much-loved memory is of Marie regaling stories to her grandchildren about their childhood and the adventures they had growing up.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, General Loran Casey; children, James Loran Casey, Michael Ernest Casey, Kenneth Ray Casey, Janice Marie Casey, and two little angels who gained their wings early; brothers, William Tedder Jr, Melvin Tedder, Clyde Tedder, Agnew Tedder, and Robert Tedder; sisters, Frances Tedder, Elizabeth T. Calloway, Pansy T. Wilkins, and Betty Jo T. Wallace; and a granddaughter-in-law, Renee Casey.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Pansy Jo Shrum (Dennis), of Lexington; grandchildren, Nick Shrum (Paula) and Michael Casey (Kim Kidd); great grandchildren, Sean Casey (Dana), Luke Shrum (Cassidy), Cory Shrum (McKenzie), and Alec Shrum (Madison); and great great grandchildren, Aubrey Casey, Ellowyn Shrum, Rosalie Shrum, and one on the way.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Robinhood Baptist Church at 5422 Robinhood Rd Winston-Salem, NC 27107, Ph# (336) 924-4241, or robinhoodroadbaptistchurch.org
