Marie Crouse

Marie Everhart Crouse, 76, of Sweetbriar Drive, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center after six months of declining health. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Rev. Dr. Walter Patton. Burial will be at Lexington City Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Crouse was born May 24, 1932, in Davidson County to Baxter O. Everhart and Mary Hedrick Everhart. A member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, she was retired from the Lexington City Schools in office administration. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dale Everhart; and a sister, Sarah Penny. Surviving are her husband, George William Crouse, of the home; a son, Steve William Crouse and his wife, Sharon, of Lexington; a granddaughter, Allie Gray Crouse; two brothers, Mitchell Everhart and his wife, Betty, of Winston-Salem and Calvin Everhart and his wife, Jo, of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Mildred Whisnant of Spartanburg, S.C.; and a sister-in-law, Patty Everhart of Lexington. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Reformed United Church of Christ, 104 E. Center St., Lexington, NC 27292.
