Blanche Marie Swing “Dink” Fallenstein, 89, of Ann Avenue, formely of Kaye Drive, Lexington died Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Health after an illness of 4 months.
A Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014, at Becks Reformed Church with the Rev. Jonathan Conrad officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at her daughters, Bonnie on Ann Avenue.
Mrs. Fallenstein was born in Davidson County, on August 7, 1924, to Crawford Lee Swing and Tempie Elizabeth Younts Swing. She was retired from Edgewood Apparel and was a member of Becks Reformed Church. Dink lived a very active life, never meeting a stranger, was a friend to all and loved her family dearly. She was an avid Duke and Miami Heat basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Theodore Fallenstein and brothers, Dallas, Dolan and Bill Swing, sisters Inez Troutman, Mary Grace Chapman, Maxine Leonard, Gertrude Swing, Rachel Penninger and Frances Parks.
Surviving are daughters, Cathy Lemly (Dennis) of Lexington, Lisa Fallenstein Gimino of Surfside Beach, SC and Bonnie Byerly of Lexington, grandchildren, Penny Farmer (Junior), Dawn Walser (Michael), Lucas Lemly, Trevor Lemly, Abbie Lemly and Josie Gimino, great grandchildren, Baylee Farmer, Macy Walser and Molly Walser.
