Marie Q. Hartman, 81, of Grayson Creek Assisted-living of Welcome, formerly of Leonard Road, took her final flight to her heavenly home on November 19, 2014.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington by Pastor Michael Greer. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Reid and Sharon Cox, 2113 Marion Dr, Lexington.
Mrs. Hartman was born April 29, 1933, in Davidson County to L.D. and Eva Payne Queen. She retired from Davidson Co. Mental Health. She was a lifelong member of the First Wesleyan Church of Lex., where she served as a Wesleyan Women director, Sunday school teacher, and board member. She currently attended St. Andrews Church when her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, H. Elmo Hartman, her first grandchild, Chris Long, and her brother, Jasper Queen.
Surviving are her daughters, Joyce (Harold) Edwards, Karon Johnson, and Sharon (Reid) Cox, grandchildren; Lonnie Long, Austin (Brandy) Cox, Aaron (Manda) Cox, Matthew (Christina) Johnson, Jeanette Long Sinclair, and Kevin Edwards, great-grandchildren; Ryan, Nate, and Olivia Long, Ryen and Logan Cox, Natalie Johnson, Josh (Amber) Gentle, and Julia Ann Spivey, and great-great grandchildren; Badyen and Lucas Spivey, and Cali Gentle.
She is also survived by her brother, Jacob (Joyce dec.) (Peggy) Queen, sisters; Tootsie (Ron) Green, Christine (Dale) Watson, Gracie (Junior) Hicks, and Elsie (Jack dec.) Koonts, and a sister-in-law, Sonya (Buck) Queen Merritt.
