Marie Holbrook Long

Marie Holbrook Long 69 of Old Salisbury Road, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning May 30, 2012 at her home. A memorial service will be at a later date. Her body was donated to Bowman Gray School of Medicine. Mrs. Long was born February 27, 1943 in Davie County to Archie Holbrook and Bonnie Holbrook Pinnix. She was retired from Binnings. Her parents preceded her in death. Surviving is her husband, David Kenneth Long of the home; sons, Dwayne Long of Kannapolis and Jeff Long of Lexington; daughters, Tammy Banks of Linwood and Lisa Harris of Atlanta Georgia; grandchildren, Derek Kindle, Aaron Kindle, Anthony Kindle, Branden Long, Nicholas Archer, Seth Long and Peyton Long; six great-grandchildren, Aniyah, Issac, Thais, Maliya, Alexandria and Aubrey; and brothers and sisters, John Holbrook of Lexington, Roger Pinnix of Salisbury, Jean Combs, Mary Smith and Eula (Tootie) Holloman, all of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, N.C. 27292 The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Hospice and her nurses, Lisa and Rhonda, for all the love and support shown to Marie and her family. Also, thanks to the family, friends and neighbors who have meant so much to Marie.
