Marie Parks Norman, 100, of Lexington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 2, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Bethany Church, where she was a member with the Rev. Adam Benson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Norman was born August 31, 1922, in Davidson County to Albert Rowe Parks, Sr. and Flata Yates Parks. She retired from Burlington Mills after 25 years of service. She loved the outdoors and helping her late husband, Glen Norman, with his watermelons and farming. Mrs. Norman was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Parks Jr; her sisters, Pauline Kinley and Geneva Miller; and her granddaughter-in-law, Gail Bridgeman.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Glenda Floyd and husband Bruce of Lexington, grandchildren, Donnie Bridgeman; her step-grandchildren, Amy Everhart, and Beth Davis; and her great grandchildren, Sara Everhart, Madelyn Davis, and Savannah Davis, and special friends the Gray family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292 or to Humane Society of Davidson County, 1120 Piedmont Drive, Lexington NC 27295.
