Marie James Smith

Marie James Rector Wimbish Smith age 80, of Lexington passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City, NC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Jim Bates officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel other times at the home. Marie was born February 1, 1930 in Davidson County to Orville Joseph James and Dora Elizabeth James. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Wachovia Bank. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother; Willis James, her sisters; Dorothy Tesh, Ruth Dare James. She is survived by a son; Chris Rector of Lexington, her daughters; Robin Allred of Winston Salem, Katrina Minter of Morehead City, NC, her sisters; Scarlett Skowronski of Welcome, Joann Davis of Florida, her 5 grandchildren, her 4 great grandchildren. Family she loved and several nieces and nephews.
