Marie Everhart Thompson

Marie Everhart Thompson, 92, of Fairview Dr., Lexington passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 in Hinkle Hospice House after an illness of one week. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Fairmont Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Sosebe officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Mrs. Thompson was born August 13, 1923 in Davidson County to Lindsay Everhart and Linnie Lash Everhart. She was a retired teacher and a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church. Marie enjoyed spending time in her garden as well as quilting. She loved singing in her church choir for 15 years. Preceding her in death was her husband, Johnnie Anderson Thompson, three brothers, Glenn Everhart, Lawrence Everhart, Walt Everhart and two sisters Grace Conrad and Zella Sechrist. Surviving are two sons, Gary Lee Thompson (Belinda) of Lexington, Randy Craig Thompson (Donna) of Apex, NC; three grandchildren, Ginger Thompson, Kim Thompson Smith, Matthew Thompson (Sarah); two great grandchildren, Madison Smith, Brody Thompson; and a sister, Virginia Bell (Ravon) of Lexington.
